The MMD Group is delighted to welcome Member of the European Parliament (MEP) Merja Kyllönen (The Left, Finland) as a new member. MEP Merja Kyllönen serves as Chair of the Delegation for relations with the Pan-African Parliament (DPAP) and member of the Committee on Transport and Tourism (TRAN) and Delegation for Relations with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (DNAT). She is also a substitute of the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) and Subcommittee on Security and Defence (DEFE).

MEP Merja Kyllönen was Minister for Transport in Finland (2011-2014). She started her political career at 19 and has been serving as a councillor in her hometown Suomussalmi since 2000. She was a member of the Finnish parliament from 2007 to 2014.

As part of her new European Parliament mandate Merja Kyllönen has made tackling diabetes a central political priority, with her commitment reflected through her collaboration with the MMD Group. Her dedication will play a key role in accelerating efforts to improve the quality of life of people living with diabetes (PwD) and to protect those at risk.

We eagerly await our collaboration with MEP Merja Kyllönen to drive ambitious policy actions aimed at improving the quality of life and health outcomes for people living with diabetes and other chronic conditions.
