In January 2024, IDF Europe and the MMD Group jointly reached out to Health Ministers from the 27 EU Member States. This initiative followed the adoption of the European Parliament’s Diabetes Resolution in November 2022 and the signing of the IDF Europe-WHO Europe Joint Declaration on diabetes in November 2023. The letter emphasises the fact that further action is urgently needed to address the growing burden of diabetes in Europe.

This joint effort aims to highlight the importance of implementing comprehensive national diabetes policies, in line with the goals outlined in the Declaration and Resolution. By engaging EU Health Ministers, IDF Europe and the MMD Group seek to encourage stronger commitments and more effective actions to tackle diabetes and other NCDs.
